This is truly the most unique work experience I have ever seen. I think it’s safe to say this is a bit more than a consulting company. There is a commitment to excellence and integrity that is hard to describe. This would be the first company where my biggest concern is constantly finding work for my team that is challenging and truly valuable. I’m surrounded by people hungry for that next big challenge. Complacency is the enemy here. I love the fact that I’m surrounded by people that are smarter than me in one way or another. We are constantly teaching each other.
ThoughtWorks’ commitment to making a lasting Global impact, both in software and important social issues is not only admirable, but it is real. I love seeing how surprised our clients are by our commitment to doing what’s best for them, even when it’s not in out best interests. The opportunities to work with and in some of the best countries on earth is also a unique aspect of this organization. Opportunities to relocate globally is not a privilege reserved for a few, but a reality for many within our organization.
Just recently, I was proud to see our company send a delegation of people to visit several countries in Africa to talk about how we can help build a strong software culture and talent pipeline. The leadership at ThoughtWorks is committed to growing local talent in both Africa and South America, an approach that I think will have a lasting positive impact in both continents.
Oh, great question. It would either have be Shaft, that’s right, watch your mouth…
I’m a trouble maker… fun spirited, but definitely not going to leave the room the way it was when I entered.
