Katie Partridge

Talent Scout

What do you love to hate about ThoughtWorks?

Someone will always challenge your opinion.

What path has your career taken?

I have been part of the recruitment team for over 3 years although my role has evolved a lot since 2010, as has the team .. there seems to be a theme of recruiters moving from London to Australia! There is now even more emphasis on hiring individuals who are aligned with our mission and passion for positive social change and it's incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by people who think this way.

I recently took a 6 month break from work to travel and after an incredible adventure I was delighted to return to ThoughtWorks and take on new challenges. My previous role was as Graduate Talent Scout for Europe which I loved because it's amazing to identify potential in people at the beginning of their career and see them succeed at ThoughtWorks.

Now I am excited to be focused again on finding talented experienced Developers and XDers to join us in London. This means working closely with existing ThoughtWorks communities, getting involved in events and of course keeping my own knowledge relevant and up to date.

In addition to Talent Scout for London I have taken on the new role of Graduate Experience Lead for Europe - ensuring that we provide a consistent approach to ongoing development and support for new graduate hires.

What did you think on your first day?

Hmmm, there's something different here. And no, it's not just all the free chocolate!

Who would play you in "ThoughtWorks: The Movie?"

I'd play the quiet one that ends up surprising you :)

About me

I am a great lover of the beautiful outdoors and recent highlights include trekking in Colombia, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and exploring the insane landscapes of Bolivia. My new favourite thing is scuba diving. And downhill mountain biking. Oh and of course the usual summer music festivals (where I can wear ridiculous hats .. like the one in this picture).
