I was completely disillusioned with the corporate bulls**t at my previous employer – and had to get away from the fabrication that I was being dragged into as part of marketing there. ThoughtWorks popped up as the antidote - frighteningly honest even in the interview process. Trevor even took the time to personally explain how terrible it was going to be for me for the first six months as loads of changes were coming up. It makes for an exhausting place to work sometimes (no head in the sand option here) but years on it’s still refreshing.
It was fascinating, honest and so full of energy.
These people are mainly lunatics.
Renee Zellweiger (well, Bridget Jones).
In 6 years at ThoughtWorks I’ve been involved in building the marketing function, and our brand – it’s been a wild and wonderful journey through the maze of a non-hierarchical, highly opinionated organization. I’ve learnt more code than I ever thought possible (about 10 commands) and I’ve made more friends than I can poke a stick at.
