I assembled a toy train set during interview.
Day one I was put on a large project with lots of developers, being the only database person I had to support all the developers and within couple of weeks transitioned to using Agile Methods (XP) for the whole project, we went from 500+ tables to 9 tables that was exciting.
Over the year we had lots of practices for doing evolutionary database design and development. We also developed the first working CI server CruiseControl during this time.
I have been involved with ThoughtWorks for about 13 years now, involved in making agile and databases work since the early days of agile and then taking our evolutionary database approach to everyone through books and talks at conferences.
I love data in any form, be it structured or unstructured, in OLTP systems or in other forms. Love the passion and energy of thoughtworkers.
