Ugandan's call it the Pearl of Africa . The Lonely Planet calls it 2012's #1 travel destination. And now ThoughtWorks calls it home. With our new office in Kampala's Nakasero business district – just a few minutes walk from UNICEF and some great coffee Uganda has become the 12th and latest ThoughtWorks country.
Kampala is a green city that the Lonely Planet calls “One of Africa's safest capitals”. It's home to Makerere University (east Africa's most respected university), some of ThoughtWorks' most important Social Impact clients, and will be a base for ThoughtWorks for the East African Community including Kenya and Tanzania.
You'll see the same crazy ThoughtWorkers in ThoughtWorks Uganda as anywhere else. And as with our South Africa office, we are building a Pan-African culture and plan to recruit from across the continent. We'll be swarming the local communities and meetups as well, to get ourselves thoroughly immersed in the local tech scene. Come join us for the fun!
